Two for Tuesday

Look what I found over the weekend – a Charlie Brown Christmas tree!  This is just adorable.  (And, as I found out when I started to photograph it, the bulb can withstand a drop of several feet onto a ceramic tile floor…a real plus!)  Notice the blue scarf warming the base – it was left out of the picture on our shopping site, but it is a part of the set.  This will really save you some decorating time!

These three aluminum snowmen with the giant feet have mad bouncing skills!  I should have checked to see if they had sticky feet, because they would make great bobblers for the dashboard of the car.  They are a little hard to photograph, but Frosty on the left has a shovel, Frosty in the middle carries a Christmas tree, and Frosty on the right is ready to hit the slopes for some downhill skiing.  These would make great, inexpensive gifts for everyone who enjoys the fun of Christmas.

Are you enjoying standard time as much as we are today?  It’s dark out already!  I hope I left the porch light on.

Two for Tuesday

Okay, yes, I know it’s Thursday…but sometimes life happens, you know?  Thanks to a terrific storm in the area and the downing of neighborhood trees, I had no power on Tuesday (for about 23 hours) and when I made it to the store yesterday we had been struck by lightning and lost a few of those critical systems without which modern life and, you know, the taking in of other peoples’ money in exchange for the good stuff, simply cannot proceed.  People, keep a land line in your home, just one – you already know that my cell phone was begging for re-juicing right when the power went down, natch.

Anyway, on Monday before the storms the air was so thick and it was so hot that I was thinking about ice cubes already, so here are some frosty things to keep you thinking Christmas.

Yes, it’s more than two – I’m feeling bad about missing a day, though.  Got to keep on Santa’s Nice list – besides, snowmen are my favorites!

I found several lovely Santas in the store today.

An elegant Santa in white fur coat and brilliant red scarf carrying a crowd of snowmen, off to decorate the neighborhood, no doubt!

And the Purr-fect Santa Nap, surrounded by feline companions, keeping him company after a long winter’s night.

Both of these are from the Pipka Santas collection of resin figurines.  The full selection encompasses Santa styles and traditions from around the world.

Puffy, round things!

From Old World Christmas, a blown glass Mr. Jack O’ Lantern pumpkin ornament (note GLITTER highlights).  This happy little haunter will be happy to hang around from Halloween right on into the hallowed holidays.

Here’s a hunky trio of frosty bliss, snuggled into felt wraps and caps, with pink cheeks and enviably-long lashes.  About 18 inches tall, these guys are weighted to stand up on their own on a mantle or table, and soft enough to hugged and lugged along.  Too adorable!  Call us at 800-445-3396 to order; they’re only $19.99 each.

It’s Tuesday, and …

Here’s a funny little bunch – it’s a bit hard to see in the picture, but their skinny, streeetched legs are actually separate from their bodies ~ they dangle and swing about in a most amusing way!  Add whimsy to your tree with a collection  of these dancing Santas and Snowmen.  Me, I’ll hang them from hooks, doorknobs or cabinet knobs around the house (please, not from the rear view mirror, just say “NO” to objects dangling from a rear view mirror).  These fellows in their fanciful tights are begging to dance around your house.

Here’s another take on red and green ~ have a look at this lovely ginger-haired lassie – her name is Frog Girl, and she’s sporting an embroidered frog on the front of her corduroy jumper, the collar of her blouse, and the tops of her shoes.  Who can resist those  adorable, smiling eyes?  I had to check to see if she was wearing real baby clothes, but I understand the outfits are custom-made for this collection of realistic dolls.  There’s a Frog Boy companion doll, and a whole host of other babies in the Adora group, each as charming as she.

Hey, if you’d like to save a few bucks, don’t forget to check out Santa’s Basement (which is kind of funny, because here at the store it’s actually located in the attic) for great bargains on closeout merchandise.
